Liz_head_shot.jpgWelcome to Sebastopol Union School District!

It is my honor to be the new Superintendent of the Sebastopol Union School District, following in the footsteps of David Wheeler. My priority is to ensure that the community knows about our schools, supports them, and sends their children to them. We are proud of our family-friendly, caring environments that feel very "small-town", yet are infused with the big ideas of global citizenship.

Kindergarten registration is open at Park Side and Pine Crest, as is the enrollment period at REACH. While most of our 5th graders matriculate into Brook Haven, we welcome new students at all of our sites whenever we have room. I am excited to welcome you to our outstanding schools. You will learn much about us from this website, but a visit is worth a thousand words. Do not hesitate to call any one of our schools to arrange for a tour or shadowing opportunity for your student.

Our schools
We have two elementary schools - Park Side School and Pine Crest School, both serving Kindergarten through 5th grade students.  Brook Haven is our middle school, serving 6th through 8th grade students and the REACH Charter School offers an alternative for 4th through 8th graders.

Park Side has recently become an
International Baccalaureate (IB) Candidate School offering the Primary Years Program. Instruction is provided in primarily single-graded classrooms and reflects the curriculum and instructional strategies
promoted by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) designed to develop students who are "Internationally-minded.”

pinecrest.jpgPine Crest Elementary is a Multi-Age Program School with K-2 and 3-5 classrooms. Our Program embraces respect for diversity and development of socially engaged intelligence. We are committed to collaboration with parents in creating academically challenging classrooms with an emphasis on an individualized and student-centered approach.

The school maintains a traditional middle school program and a special 6th grade core program for transition to the departmentalized approach of secondary schools. reach.jpg The REACH School supports the emerging child in becoming a whole person through integration of strong academics, creative arts and community involvement in an environment that fosters acceptance and respect for self
and other.
