The Sebastopol Union School District took action at its regular meeting of July 21, 2005, to make a provisional appointment of Olivia Leon to the Board, taking the place of former Trustee Al Solomon who resigned his post effective June 30, 2005, due to his relocation out of state.

The District is pleased to welcome Olivia to the Board. She will be officially seated at the August 18 regular meeting. Unless a petition calling for a special election containing a sufficient number of signatures is filed in the office of the County Superintendent of Schools within thirty (30) days of the provisional appointment, this shall become an effective appointment and Olivia Leon will hold the office for the remainder of term, which ends December 2006.

On behalf of the Trustees and Administrative Staff, Timothy Dimick, Board President, would like to welcome David Wheeler as the Superintendent of the Sebastopol Union School District and Principal of Brook Haven Middle School beginning July 1, 2005. Mr. Wheeler has been received warmly by the Sebastopol Union School District community, and has done an outstanding job as our Interim Superintendent. David's experience as a father of two students who graduated from Brook Haven, as well as his sense of humor and his proven leadership skills, uniquely qualify him for this position.
