The Sebastopol Union School District is pleased to announce the addition of Margaret Peters to the staff at Brook Haven Middle School teaching in the REACH Magnet Program. Ms. Peters comes to the District after two years teaching at Cross and Crown Lutheran School in Rohnert Park. Margaret is a graduate of Sonoma State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Hutchins School of Liberal Arts. Her concentration at the Hutchins School was in Human Development. After graduating she entered the credential program and received a multiple subject credential from Sonoma State. Margaret has classroom teaching experience at the 4-5 level which she will be assigned to at Brook Haven. Maggie brings a great deal of enthusiasm to her new assignment. She is a very active advocate for differentiated instruction and providing a positive learning environment to assist her students in their academic and social development.

The District wants to provide an early notice to families that school will start for our elementary students at all three schools on Wednesday, August 22nd. District personnel have been involved in lengthy talks with other districts regarding school calendar for 2007-2008. Additional information will be available once a final calendar has been adopted by the West Sonoma County Union High School District. At this point it is the intend of the Board and our teachers to align as much as possible with the high school calendar. However, where features of the eventual WSCUHSD calendar do not match SUSD needs, we will establish our priority dates as needed.
